IPL 2024 Auction: Travis Head’s Joy After Joining Sunrisers Hyderabad

Travis Head scored a match-winning half-century against South Africa in the CWC 2023 semi-final, while Head, who scored a ton against India in front of over 90,000 Indian fans, will be in action in IPL 2024 as well, looking to improve its competitiveness level.

Travis Head was pumped after signing with Sunrisers Hyderabad and sharing a video message. In a video message posted by Sunrisers Hyderabad on their official ‘X’ handle, Head said, “Hi, Sunrisers fans, over the moon about joining this year. So many good players on the team, happy. So many wonderful stories about the Orange Army, and how strong and vocal it is. We’re looking forward to joining.”

After Travis Head, fellow Australians Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins were the top buyers of the day. At one end, Kolkata Knight Riders picked up Starc for Rs 24.75 crore while Cummins ended up with Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 20.50 crore.

Mitchell Starc has expressed his delight at joining Kolkata Knight Riders and is very excited to play in front of KKR fans. Speaking in a video message uploaded by KKR, Starc said, “Hey KKR fans, I am happy to be in the team for this year’s IPL and cannot wait for the crowd to go to Eden Gardens to watch the home fans and home, and the weather. Look forward to seeing you then. Amy KKR.”

Once the Indian Premier League 2024 auction is completed, the trading window will open again on December 20 and close 30 days before IPL 17 starts, according to reports. The lucrative tournament is scheduled to take place in March, April, and May of 2024.

This year IPL will once again prove to be a game changer for the young players as they will showcase their talent and later become big names for their country. The program will also be a great opportunity for the young players of the Indian team as they vie for a place in the squad for the 2024 Twenty20 World Cup.
